What are Moles?

Moles are small growths on the skin that are usually brown or black in colour. Skin Tags and moles should be removed when they cause inconveniences ( such as rubs against clothes and so on), cosmetic issue. Changes in size and colour of moles are important and they should be removed as soon as possible.They are the result of cells in the skin growing in a cluster rather than being spread throughout the skin. The cells are called melanocytes and their purpose is to create the pigment that gives your skin its natural colour. Moles usually develop and appear in early childhood and during the first 25 years of a person’s life. It is normal to have anywhere from 10 to 40 moles on your body by the time you reach adulthood. Although most moles are smaller in size, there are instances where they can grow much bigger.

What are Skin Tags?

Skin tags are very common benign skin growths that appear on the skin and take on the appearance of a balloon-shaped bulb of skin on a slender stalk. They are harmless and pose no threat to your health, so there is often no need to remove them unless they are becoming irritating from rubbing against clothing, or are simply bothering you with their appearance. The exact cause of skin tags is unknown.

Should I get my Moles/Skin Tags Removed?

Since most moles and all skin tags are generally harmless, there is usually no urgent need to remove them. If a mole starts to change colour or increase in size, it’s a good idea to consider removing it. Most people who get moles and skin tags removed do so due to irritation from rubbing against clothing or simply because they dislike their appearance.
